Our Story

Iya Nurse is inspired by a personal journey of family, dedication, and a deep desire to make a difference. I am a first-generation British-Nigerian, born and raised in the UK. My mother, a dedicated mental health nurse from Nigeria, has been my greatest inspiration. Watching her pursue her nursing degree, I witnessed firsthand the challenges she faced, especially with English as her second language.

When I was 11, I often helped my mum by typing up her handwritten notes on the computer. These moments of assisting her with her studies planted the seed for Iya Nurse. I wanted to create something that would help not only my mum but also other hardworking nurses and medical professionals like her. Professionals who are mothers, fathers, uncles, and aunties, striving to provide the best care while overcoming language barriers.
